07 — The Small Print

Terms

What you are buying, what you may do with it, and how to get your money back. Written to be read rather than to be impressive.

What you are buying

A digital photograph, delivered as a download. Nothing is shipped. The file sizes are stated in pixels on each product — 2048px at $18, 2400px at $30, Commercial licence at $180 — and the size you pick is the size you get. There is no larger version held back.

Refunds

If the file is faulty, wrong, or does not download, you get a full refund. No time limit and no argument — email me and it is done.

Because a digital file cannot be returned once it has been downloaded, I do not otherwise refund a completed download simply because you changed your mind. If you have not downloaded the file yet, email within 14 days and I will refund it.

Refunds go back to the card that paid, through Stripe, and usually take 5–10 days to appear depending on your bank.

Cancellation rights (UK & EU)

Consumers in the UK and EU normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. For digital content delivered immediately, that right ends once the download begins — and by starting the download you are agreeing to immediate delivery and acknowledging that you lose the right to cancel.

If you would rather keep the 14 days, do not download the file, and email me instead. The right is yours to spend or keep.

What you may do with the photograph

The 2048px and 2400px files are licensed for personal use: prints for your own walls, a phone or desktop background, sharing online with credit. Not for advertising, not for resale, not for anything a client pays you for.

The commercial licence covers exactly that: using the image in work that makes money — advertising, packaging, a client project, a product. It is the same file as the 2400px download; what you are buying is the right, not a larger image.

In every case I keep the copyright. You may not resell or redistribute the file itself, or pass it to someone else to use as if it were theirs.

Download links

Links stay live for 30 days from purchase. After that they stop working, but nothing is lost — email me with your order reference and I will send the file directly.

The donation

50% of proceeds from every photograph sold goes to The ALS Association. That is a commitment I make personally, calculated on what actually reaches my account after Stripe's fees. It is not a condition of your purchase and does not affect your refund rights.

Payment and data

Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details never touch this site and I never see them. I receive your email address and, for any order that ships, your address. I do not sell or share that with anyone, and there is no newsletter to be added to.
